Full Pool Refurbishment, Brenchley
The client approached us with an unused, deteriorating concrete pool that lacked structural clarity and modern features. The goal was to transform the pool into a safe, stunning and low-maintenance space for family enjoyment. Before the renovations began we needed to investigate the structural integrity so we could ensure the final swimming pool was completely safe and structurally secure.
We performed a number of exploratory and structural tests, including concrete coring and crush testing on the old shell and soil and geotechnical assessments to ensure the grounds stability. The result of these tests meant we could safely advise a refurbishment over a full rebuild meaning we could work with 75k budget to create the pool they had dreamed of.
We included a very low freeboard for a modern look, stainless steel fittings and RGB lighting coupled with the granite finish created a streamlined and modern pool, a world away from the previous pool. We went for a 1.35m constant depth as the family was keen to be able to play volleyball and other sports together. We used in-house designed crystal water filtration setup to ensure minimal maintenance for ease.
This luxury transformation of a neglected pool on a reasonably tight budget just proves that with thoughtful planning and experienced execution an old, unused pool can become the jewel of the home. We are so proud of this project and SPATA were equally impressed – awarding us Refurbishment of the Year 2023.
Brenchley sits within one of our busiest working areas. See more examples of our swimming pool construction in Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding villages.
