Reinforced Concrete Pool

Our client wanted a large outdoor pool that felt generous, refined and practical for family life. The brief included a minimum size of 14 x 6 metres, bespoke walk-in corner steps, RGB lighting, an automatic safety cover and a high-end finish that would sit comfortably within the surrounding property and garden.

They also wanted to extend the swimming season, with the pool designed to hold heat efficiently and remain comfortable to use well beyond the height of summer.

The challenge was to achieve all of this within a carefully managed budget. Rather than reduce the brief, we developed a construction method that allowed the pool to deliver on size, appearance, safety and performance without unnecessary cost.

The pool shell was built using reinforced concrete, helping to create a strong, efficient structure.

An automatic slatted cover was specified to improve heat retention, provide a secure barrier and achieve a clean, contemporary waterline. The pool was finished with a granite stone-effect on-site lining, chosen to complement the tones of the house and garden. The bespoke steps and safety ledge were lined in the same non-slip material for a seamless and practical finish.

To support reliable long-term use, we installed high-quality filtration, two air source heat pumps and external temperature monitoring to help protect the pool during colder weather.

The finished pool is generous, elegant and highly considered. It delivers the scale and finish the client wanted, while also offering safety, comfort and efficient performance into the cooler months.

The client was delighted with the result and has since offered the pool to Mermaid as a show pool.

This project is one example of our swimming pool construction in East Sussex, where we design each pool around the property, intended use and technical requirements of the installation.
